MCCP organizes annual drawing competition








One of MCCP’s most awaited event of the year, the Drawing competition was conducted on the 30th of September 2016 at Sts. Peter and Paul Church Parish Hall, Ruwi. Mangalorean Catholic Centre of the Parish through the drawing competition aimed at giving a platform to all the young and budding talents to exhibit their artistic talents.

The competition commenced at 4 pm with a welcome note by the President of Year 25 Dilip Correa, encouraged the children and brought in excitement in them to participate actively in this event. Fr. Marian Miranda the Spiritual Advisor of MCCP blessed the event in his opening prayer. The event was inaugurated by Fr. Marian Miranda and Mr. Stanely Fernandes by drawing a stroke of colour on a canvas paper. They were joined in by Dilip Correa and Jessie Pereira in drawing a stroke on the canvas and declaring the event open. Lavina D’sa presented the rules of the competition and also proposed the Vote of Thanks. The whole event was compered by Naveen Mascharenhas.

The registration counter was managed by Trescilla Menezes and Melita Alva , who very meticulously managed to register and took care of the record breaking entries with many new faces of young and old which numbered a total 120 contestants ,they were accompanied by Violet Dcosta, Agnes Picardo, ELlizabeth Noronha and Tina Saldanha. Jason Cardoza and Sachin Lobo were incharge of organizing the whole event and catered to the needs of all the participants. Lynel Lobo and Ashok Pinto managed the arrangements of treat packs to the participants and the venue setup.

All, set with their crayons, paints and colour pencils the contestants spanning from toddlers to adults were very excited to spread the colours of life on to the blank paper. It was indeed a very eventful day for MCCP, as all the artists were brought under one platform to exhibit their talents.

The themes given to various groups were: Group A & B: Colour the given Picture; GroupC: A rainy Day: Group D: Village scene in Mangalore; Group E: Water is life, conserve it; Group F:Miracles of Jesus and the Adult category was supposed to draw and colour Culture and Heritage of Mangalore.
