Mangalorean Catholic Center of the Parish, Muscat conducted a badminton tournament for the first time in the history of MCCP on the 24th<\/sup> of February 2017. The tournament was held at the Recreation center of the Royal hospital.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

The tournament saw an overwhelming response with a total registration of 45 teams. The sports lovers and the members of the MCCP, all the way from Sohar actively participated in the tournament. Meticulous planning had to be done to complete the matches on time due to overwhelming response from the community and accordingly lots were taken for the respective groups to have smooth running matches. This was conducted by Dolly Gomes, who is once again an ardent supporter for the MCCP and lover of sports. Trescilla Menezes took up the responsibility of the registration desk.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

The program commenced at 9am with a prayer by Melita Alva. The President Dilip Correa welcomed the gathering. The entire event was conceptualized and organized by Jessie Pereira, Vice President Sports and Finance and Lynel Lobo, Sports Secretary. The President played the opening strike thereby announcing the opening of the tournament. Praveen Niddodi a very talented compere hosted the formal part of the tournament program.

Various categories were formed for matches in the children, men and women categories. Sharath Kumar and Guruprasad were the referees for the matches. Dolly Gomes was instrumental in organizing the entire tournament and making teams.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Ashok Pinto proposed the Vote of Thanks. Sunil Fernandes one of the sponsors for the day was presented with a floral boquet, he also gave the winners and runner up the medals and trophies along with Dilip Correa and Jessie Pereira.
