On the morning of 7th<\/sup> October 2016, Mangalorean Catholic Centre of the Parish (MCCP), Muscat and Humanity First Foundation (HFF) – Muscat Chapter joined hands together to work for the better health of the Parishioners from various communities in the Sultanate of Oman, which was also opened for all the people from different walks of life. A free medical camp was held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ruwi. It was conducted in collaboration with City Optical for eye checkup and Apollo Hospitals, Muscat for general health.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

The event commenced with a welcome note by MCCP president, Dilip Correa, who also welcomed the dignitaries to the stage. Savio Carvalho, Vice President of Parish Council of the Ruwi parish welcomed the Assistant Parish Priest and Spiritual Advisor Fr. Marian Miranda and Dr. Vidya from Apollo Hospital with floral bouquets. Sharon Alva, National General Secretary of HFF (India) & Co-ordinator of HFF \u2013 Muscat Chapter, welcomed Suresh Kumar, Head – Marketing of Apollo Hospitals, Muscat, while Prescilla Menezes \u2013 Parish Council representative for Mangalorean Community welcomed James Noronha – Proprietor of City Optical.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Fr. Marian Miranda led the gathering in a prayer. A token of appreciation was handed over to Suresh Kumar and James Noronha as a gratitude for their willingness and co-operation to conduct this free medical camp. The inaugural was anchored by Lavina D’sa. Sharon Alva proposed the vote of thanks.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Vidya from Apollo Hospital, Muscat presented a talk on Breast cancer awareness to the ladies who were present.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

The camp commenced at 9am and was conducted through the day until 6 pm. Over 225 people gained benefit with this health camp. Doctor’s consultation, screening of basic health parameters and eye checkup was provided, totally at free of cost, as a package of this medical camp.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

The collaboration of MCCP and HFF has proved to be beneficial to a huge number over 225 plus. The attendees were served with sumptuous breakfast and refreshments throughout the day. Yet another novel deed was rendered to the community and society at large and land mark for 25th<\/sup> year celebration for MCCP, and a project activity for the Humanity First Foundation \u2013 Muscat Unit, that stands first to serve the humanity.
