John Mathias the son of Peter and Alice Mathias hailing from Karkala a very famous pilgrimage for all Manglurgars, upon his early schooling in his native town Karkala, which is about 50 km from Mangalore, graduated from Bhuvanendra College (B.Com) in Karkala.\u00a0 He sought a career in the travel industry, which took him to Mumbai first and then to Muscat, and is currently employed as a Travel Consultant at Bahwan Travel Agency.<\/p>\n

It was during his early years in Oman that he married the love of his life, the mannequin of the community \u2018Reena\u2019, a familiar face in the MCCP circles because of her active participation with a graceful smiling approach. Currently she is managing \u2018Round-up\u2019 column on mccpoman website and a Domina Toastmaster. \u00a0Together they have two awesome sons \u2013 Jason and Craig \u2013 who are responsible for all the joys and cheers they share in the community. \u00a0This proves the duo is in love with MCCP!\u00a0 The strong family built, has further broadened the shoulders of John to take up this challenging task and live by an example according to the theme of this year.<\/p>\n

John a tall man of few words with broad shoulders, is an exemplary man at service, so humbly express \u201cTaking up the portfolio of Sports Secretary is a novel venture for me; however, thanks to the confidence demonstrated in my abilities to take up this post, I will be able to bring to the desk (and the field) my passion for sports in general. Although I have no major sports achievements to share, I do dabble in badminton, hockey, football and cricket. My love for sports and the desire to keep myself active in a variety of sporting activities, I think will hold me in good stead during my tenure as the Sports Secretary.\u201d<\/p>\n

John a cheerful persona ensures to spread happiness in and around him through his buoyant nature.\u00a0 The self-confidence and love for the community, John hopes to take MCCP to the next soaring level in sporting events, whereby community has already carved a niche amongst the other communities in the region.<\/p>\n

He states \u2018primarily I should enjoy the task I perform\u2026 automatically the rewards follow\u2019, thus from here he sees to sustain the success of MCCP that has seen in the past and continue to excel in the future to let the flag flying high amongst the others! Simultaneously ensures that the community this year will be enjoying great sporting events\u2026!<\/p>\n
