Simple in his approach, sober in his actions but serious in his duties, John Gonsalves, a strong believer of the saying ‘Attitude determines Magnitude’, hails from his native place, St. Peter\u2019s Church, Barkur. Born as the 5th<\/sup> son among six sons to his parents, Mr.(late) Monthu Gonsalves and Mrs. Theresa Gonsalves,\u00a0 was brought up with strong family values. Married to Joyce, a lady of his choice, from his neighborhood, who has been a great supporter in his endeavors throughout. While children – Joylin and Jeston are his pride, ‘family’ as a whole has been his driving force right from the childhood.<\/p>\n

Graduated from Milagres college (Kallianpur), Mangalore University, moved to Mumbai for career, continued his studies and completed post graduate diploma in Administrative Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, University of Bombay. After working for six years in Mumbai, set his journey to Muscat in 1989.<\/p>\n

At native and in Mumbai, an active participant in various activities in church, colleges and in social circle, took prominent roles in associations such as CYM, AICUF, St. Peter’s Association (Bom) and other organizations. Having great love and respect for Konkani, listening to and singing Konkani songs is his hobby, favourite singer and composer being Wilfi Rebimbus. \u00a0Acted in several Konkani plays back home as well as in Mumbai, also has written Konkani dramas. A music lover and his interest in sports remained in playing cricket, volley ball and badminton.<\/p>\n

In Muscat, working for\u00a0 Shanfari Group of Companies for the last 24 years, currently positioned as \u00a0‘Head \u2013 Finance’ of Shanfari \u00a0Readymix & Crushers LLC. Apart from professional duties, has taken up active role in the Parish and the community activities.\u00a0 He has been serving in executive committee of Mangalorean Community of Ghala Parish for many years. Was President of the committee for the years 2011 to 2013 and represented Mangalorean Community in the Parish Council. He was an executive member of Parish Council during the period Holy Spirit Church Ghala celebrated its Silver Jubilee, conducting various activities throughout the year, in which John played a vital role, \u00a0which gained him appreciation from community members and parishioners.<\/p>\n

MCCP is very dear to him and always enjoyed being a member of it. He has been a member since its inception. Now as a member in Executive Committee, would like to see MCCP is likable by one and all by its approach and actions, to build up stronger community and take forward Mangalorean culture to future generations.<\/p>\n
