Ophelia Lazarus <\/b>is a known professional in the community for her social networking and charity based service.\u00a0 Her vibrant and pleasing personality with a flair for communication and network has got herself involved actively in various events, and made her popular in the community.\u00a0 Her \u2018Eveready\u2019 nature, and swift action to be an effective crises manager under any circumstance, has made her an intricate part of the communities, she is involved with.<\/p>\n

Hailing from the Monteiro family belonging to Katpadi Parish in Mangalore; is the proud daughter amongst the 6 children born to Albert & Lina.\u00a0\u00a0 Ophelia graduated in Masters from Pune University.\u00a0 During her college days and after, she has won many prizes in Debates and Elocution competition, thus is a good orator.\u00a0 Being with Youth, understands the pulse of today\u2019s generation and gel\u2019s well with their attitude and temperament. The South Indian Look demonstrates her love and strong values for Mangalorean Culture and Tradition.\u00a0 In Oman since 1992 is currently serving as a Assistant Manager – Purchase \u00a0at\u2018AreejVegetable Oils & Derivatives SAOG \u2019 a market leader in the country.<\/p>\n

Ophelia says, \u201cMy Life changed after marriage to Kennedy Lazarus.\u00a0 With the birth of our son Craig life became more meaningful and my whole perspective towards life changed. My hobbies include reading, listening to music , meeting\u00a0 people of\u00a0 diverse cultures and to reach out to people who are less fortunate\u00a0 and in need which I inculcated from my young days when I was associated with social international organizations such as Lions Club and Jaycees that prompted service in reaching the less fortunate.\u00a0 This particular aspect of mine has also helped me in understanding people and has exposed me to different cultures.\u00a0 Being an extrovert I find it easy to connect with people.\u201d Ophelia is a person full of life basically with combination of 3 \u2018F\u2019s \u2013 \u2018Food, Fashion & Fun\u2019, thus is very easily approachable.<\/p>\n

Ophelia a Toastmaster , has held various positions in the Committee of various organizations such as Secretary\u2019s Meet Muscat, Indian Social Club \u2013 Konkani Wing, <\/b>etc. <\/b>She has served the office of MCCP in 2011 \u2013 2012 (the 20th<\/sup> anniversary year) <\/b>as Community Services Secretary. She is very talented at event management and in her personal capacity has hosted beauty pageants, X\u2019mas \/ New Year Celebrations, and various theme events in the region, which has drawn her closer in social networking atmosphere, as she has been actively contributing towards charity based activities. Being a Foodie, she was also a judge twice for the Star Chef Contest organized by a leading restaurant in Oman. A package of talent and expertise at the top, will surely come in handy for the Executive Team this year in executing the calendar events successfully.<\/p>\n

\u2018MCCP\u2019<\/b> means to Ophelia, an organization in the league of high profile communities, a platform for youth our future leaders who can be groomed to uphold the tradition and culture and carve the name of \u2018Mangalore\u2019 on the world map.\u00a0 She dreams to bring MCCP vibrant community to the forefront on a larger scale. Her immense talent available can be utilized for generating the funds and help the needy within the community.<\/p>\n

Ophelia shares, \u00a0\u201cBorn and brought in a different state away from motherland Mangalore, I did not know how to speak Konkani correctly \u2026 but today having associated myself with the people of the community\u2026 I can decently and fairly communicate in my Mother Tongue Konkani\u2026!\u201d this is her sedulous attitude to be associated and stay connected to the roots.\u00a0 Ophelia Lazarus always felt, the Mangaloreans not brought up in Mangalore are not familiar with their mother tongue Konkani, as a community MCCP should conduct workshops to help those interested in learning the language and live the Mangalorean culture and tradition.<\/p>\n

In her opinion, \u2018Housewife\u2019 the home \u00a0makers are one department that are normally ignored and are taken for granted\u2026 and Ophelia says \u2018Housewives are not only Homemakers, but are also community makers utilizing their talents serving selflessly, and every organization \/ community should be proud of them who can bring the community closer and build stronger organization binding them together.<\/p>\n

With the rich experience, strong social network, to top it with love and dedication for community\u2026 Ophelia is in the right place to support the mantle \u2018The President\u2019, thereby community can expect some quality based exciting events in the 22nd<\/sup> term of MCCP. In her position, the objective set by the VP \u2013 Finance is the use of finances generated during the term for the betterment of MCCP and help the deserving, needy people of the community.<\/p>\n
