Muscat, Nov 25: After the success of the past few events, namely inaugural function, quiz contest, annual cricket day and academic and career workshop, Team-26 of Mangalorean Catholic Centre of the Parish, Muscat (MCCP) is gearing up for one of the most exciting and much awaited Christmas Carnival event to usher in the festive mood of Christmas.

The president of MCCP Sunil Furtado announced that the festive event will be held on December 1, at Ruwi Church Hall from 5.15 pm onwards, and will be conducted in the most joyous and fun filled way ever witnessed by the ommunity. The event is aimed at bringing all families and individuals together to set a start for the festive season of Christmas and share the joy of the birth of our Saviour with oneness among the community.

In order to achieve a heady mix of entertainment, competitive spirit and festive elements of Christmas, the team has announced three contests. The members have been asked to form groups of 4-8 members for a Christmas carol group singing competition. This contest has already generated tremendous interest within the community and an interesting contest is expected between several groups. The competition will be judged by talented and esteemed judgeswho will be a part of the event to choose the right winners.

Team 26 has also announced a star making competition, wherein innovative and creative ways of making a Christmas Star will be the criteria.

For the first time ever, an Online Fancy Dress competition has been announced to give an opportunity to every individual/family of the community to portray themselves as any of the characters related to Christmas. They are required to post their photo with that attire to the organisers to be part of the contest.

The community members are requested to register online for the carol singing competition at www.mccpoman.com, online fancy dress competition by sending in their entries to [email protected] or by WhatsApp to 90339024 and submit the Stars to committee members. The last date for accepting the entries for all competitions is November 27, 2017. Along with the competitions, the event will be showcasing various performances by community members. Team 26 is very enthusiastic and fully geared up to make the evening enjoyable and a memorable one. While winners will walk away with prizes, every participant of all the competitions will be awarded with certificates of appreciation. On the other hand, surprises are in store for every member of the community who will attend the event.
