The 9th session of Domina Angels was held on 22nd Mar, 2014, at ‘Samudra Restaurant-Party Hall’ a (temporary) new vemue identified, for a uncompromised uninterrupted meeting schedule.

The attendance was full house as usual. (except couple of them being absent). 1 New registration at this session reaffirms the popularity of Domina for their quality operational methods, befitting the young minds.

Very confident, Sergeant at Arms Gav Adventina called the meeting to order. From session to session she has proved her improvement in presenting her skills as a good communicator. Though the opening matter is same at every session, she presents it differently that every audience will be watching curiously to know ‘what would be new today!’. She has emerged as magnificent, confident presenter. Commendable role play Gav Adventina, Keep up the good work.

Upon the opening of the day’s session by SAA after professing vision of the club, & the meeting regularities… the podium was handed over to the club President Gav Omari Prince.

President in her opening speech presented the theme of the day ‘Colours of Life’ relatively on Holi festival. The way she put it across relating to the academics on ‘the law of dispersement of light’ split in 7 colours, yet when seen together through a medium shows as one colour white…! She portrayed the theme as union of colours …. That was very easy to understand by the Gaveliers!… They understand the like minds… and thus gel well….! That’s the beauty of these gaveliers. A superb inspiring opening Gav Omari..

Further she welcomed the new members and the guests who were present, and introduced them. She also briefed about the session and the toastmaster’s format for the benefit of new comers.. The Gavelier of the Day Gav Namiyah was introduced at the session who took over for further proceedings.

Gav. of the Day Gav Namiyah… an intelligent gavelier whose speciality is to use the technology for better purposes! Speaking on colours and the details she shared about ‘Holi Festival’ gave an insight to all who were present providing more information on which they were unaware of.

It was indeed a very good sharing. She tried to maintain the same spontaneous tempo from start to finish, however lack of practice due to academic annual exams, she had to face hick-ups in her presentation. A lesson to be learnt by all… practice gains confidence and makes you perfect…! Thus avoids embarrassment, especially on the public platform. Well tried Namiyah, within the time frame available for preparation…(no doubt academics comes first) but definitely expect a better presentation the next time. All the best. You are capable of doing it.

With the restriction of roles to be played… it is difficult to accommodate every gavelier, hence some of them may feel neglected. Therefore the mentors implanted an innovative idea… that every task is performed by 2 gaveliers… i.e. the juniors or the new comers will be assisted and guided by the senior / seasoned gaveliers…. Thus learning perspective is facile at every session within the given time limit and ‘share and care’ quality is also imbibed in these young ones. Accordingly, every role was performed by respective Gavelier supported by the senior seasoned Gavelier. It was laudable to watch the high- spirited seniors mentoring the exuberant juniors and helping them present their report. Great job gaveliers… Keep up the unselfish nature to share what you know… with this quality you will outshine in whatever you do and also horizon of ideas is widened to make you better to best presenter.

The Mentors felt, all the Gaveliers should complete their 1st project… earlier the better… which builds confidence in them…, coz… human tendency of introverts specially is to postpone as much as possible! or Delay the work… thereby may lose interest and the purpose is defeated! Hence, speech marathon was conducted so that 90% of the Domina Angels can record the completion of 1st Project. The speeches were evaluated by the Mentor / Counselor DTM Clita Crasta, who is also the Asst. Division Governor (Training).

Speech criterion for P1- Ice Breaker and P2 – Organize your speech was presented by Gav Omari so that the speakers do the justice for their speeches, audiences understand the objective of the project delivered.

The evaluation reports presented by the Mentor was a kind of education session for all the gaveliers present, as DTM Clita Crasta demonstrated the presentation through examples and also highligted the errors with correction for improvements. Hence at this session was also an education session, not only the project speakers but every person present at the venue, as they benefited with the tips presented through this teaching for improvement to excel and perform better. Especially the new comers were benefitted the most …as now they understand the procedure well.

At the reporting time, the General Evaluator Gav Omari took over the session and called for the reports.

All the role players, including the General Evaluator presented their reports flawlessly, which were worth appreciating for their meticulous job. This proved that the Gaveliers came prepared well and were assiduous in their assigned roles. Great job new / junior gaveliers for performing your role aptly and kudos to the role mentors helping them to do a good presentation.

Every session the eagerness to learn is well witnessed, so also the operations of the Club. At every session, the mentors ensure some newness is introduced to make the sessions interesting and innovative. Though the venue was new, being in the prime location everybody reached the venue on time. New and old gaveliers were in full enthusiasm at the session as the meeting was called after a tedious stress of exams … These young minds definitely were called for a relaxed mood… meeting their friends from their regular routine school atmosphere. This proves their earnest interest not want to miss even a single session, which connects them to this prestigious organization enhancing healthy networking abilities.

The VP Education Rohit Kishore, took over to set up the schedule and agenda for the next session. But as the time was not available due to many project speechs, the meeting was adjourned for fellowship with their friends including Birthday celebration, which nobody want to miss.
